#WhereLeadersLearn | The art of communicating excellence: In Conversation campaign wins MACE Award
The social media campaign showcasing the In Conversation: Four Decades of Artworks exhibition, a tribute marking Rhodes University's 120th anniversary, has been honoured with a prestigious MACE Excellence Award. This accolade recognises the exceptional work done in profiling the Rhodes University Fine Art Departmentโs exhibit during the National Arts Festival (NAF) in June.
The MACE (Marketing, Advancement, and Communication in Education) Excellence Awards are an annual celebration of innovation and distinction among higher education professionals across Southern Africa. These awards acknowledge ground-breaking contributions to marketing, communication, and advancement within the academic community.
The #NAFExhibition was a significant event featuring works from Rhodes University's extensive art collection. It celebrated four decades of creativity by the Fine Art Department's full-time and contract teaching staff. Curated by Prof Dominic Thorburn, Prof Maureen de Jager, and Robyn Munnick, the exhibition highlighted the department's remarkable influence on the visual culture of Makhanda, the Eastern Cape, and beyond.
This recognition affirms Rhodes Universityโs outstanding contributions to the arts and the team's dedication to excellence in promoting the University's artistic legacy. Heartfelt congratulations to all involved for this well-deserved achievement, which continues to elevate Rhodes University's profile through impactful and innovative campaigns.
[L-R]: Robyn Munnick (curator), Christelle du Toit (Manager: Communication and Marketing), Mo Senne (Senior Communications Officer), and Prof Maureen de Jager (curator and HOD: Fine Art).
