This is a moment for critical reflection and strategic re-imagination for growth and sustainability, drawing from our collective resolve and working with our stakeholders. A standout moment at the #RU120Concert was when Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse performed 'Refugee (Come Home)' with the Rhodes University Chamber Choir and Makana Community Orchestra.
He said the song was inspired by Hugh Masekela and Miriam Makeba – fellow artists who were forced into exile during apartheid.
The music carried that history.
